How soon after I move out can I get my security deposit back?

Refunds of security deposits are based on part II of Chapter 83, Florida Statutes which states: "Your security deposit is to be returned within fifteen (15) days after expiration of your lease or to notify you if a claim will be made against your security deposit within thirty (30) days.  The security deposit or claim will be mailed to you."

So, if you are going to be receiving a refund of your security deposit, you will get it within 15 days of the time you turned in your keys.

If a claim (an expense due to damage) is put against your security deposit, you will be notified within 30 days of the time you turn in your keys.
